Dr. Jacobsen holds a degree in Medicine from the University of Sao Paulo (1972), a master’s degree in Medicine-Neurology from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Sao Paulo (1984), and a PhD in Neurology from the University of Sao Paulo (1990). Currently, Dr. Jacobsen is a full professor at the University of Sao Paulo, as well as Director of the Functional Neurosurgery Division at the Psychiatry Institute of the Hospital das Clinicas, Faculty of Medicine, University of Sao Paulo since 2004, and of the Neurosurgical Clinic Division at the Central Institute of Hospital das Clinicas, Faculty of Medicine, University of Sao Paulo. Dr. Jacobsen has extensive experience in Medicine, with a focus on Neurosurgery, and specializes in pain management, including acute pain, chronic pain, neuropathic pain, and myofascial pain syndrome, as well as surgical treatments for abnormal movements, spasticity, diseases of the spinal column, and nervous system tumors.
