Doctor of Biomedicine, Director of the Scientific Council of Midway Labs
Dr. Turibio Leite de Barros Neto is an accomplished academician and physiologist with extensive experience in the field of exercise physiology. He holds a Master’s and Doctorate in Biomedical Sciences from UNIFESP and is an Adjunct Professor at the same university. He has also served as a supervisor for master’s and doctoral programs. Dr. Turibio has worked as a physiologist for São Paulo F.C. and the Brazilian National Football Team, and is the creator of CEMAFE, a center for sports medicine and physical activity at UNIFESP. He has won the JabutiPrize for literature in Health Sciences and is a member of the American College of Sports. With a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedicine from the Federal University of São Paulo (1972), Dr. Turibioalso earned a master’s and doctoral degree in Biological Sciences from the same university (1978 and 1986). He was a member of the American College of Sports Medicine and an Associate Professor at the Federal University of São Paulo. Additionally, he was the coordinator of the Sports Physiology Department at the Pinheiros Sports Club and a consultant in physiology for companies focused on sports and nutritional supplementation for athletes. Dr. Turibio’s extensive experience in physiology is mainly focused on exercise, with emphasis on physical activity, soccer, oxygen consumption, and physical fitness.
