Helena Kaziyama, MD, PhD

Dr. Helena Kaziyama is a highly accomplished medical professional specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She graduated from Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo in 1975 and completed her residency in the Division of Physical Medicine at the Institute of Orthopedics and Traumatology of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of São Paulo in 1976 and 1977. Since 1979, she has been working as an Attending Physician in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Currently, Dr. Kaziyama serves as the Director of the Health Service in the Division of Physical Medicine at IOT HCFMUSP. She is also a member of the Multidisciplinary Pain Center at the Neurological Clinic of ICHC FMUSP and is responsible for the Fibromyalgia outpatient clinic. For eight years starting in 1992, she participated in the Osteoarthritis outpatient clinic at the Rheumatology Clinic of HCFMUSP.

Dr. Kaziyama successfully defended her master’s thesis in Rheumatology in 1996 and completed her doctorate in 2014, both at the Neurological Clinic of HCFMUSP. Her expertise lies in the field of Physical Medicine, with a focus on areas such as fibromyalgia, myofascial pain syndrome, and chronic musculoskeletal pain (specifically osteoarthritis of the knee and hip, and spinal pain).

She holds a specialist title in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with a certification in the field of pain from the Brazilian Medical Association and the Brazilian Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
